The electric one we are talking about is the Hyundai IONIQ 6. That, to taste the colors, but compared to the previous version of the Tesla Model 3, the truth is that it has a more original and daring design. Whether you like it more, or you like it less, that’s a fact. And the design is not everything, because it also came with better aerodynamics and achieving a higher level of efficiency. That is why it was placed among the most outstanding in terms of range. In short, it came to the market with everything necessary to be a better purchase option than the Tesla Model 3, but it has fallen far short of achieving it. And it was just because of one problem and it wasn’t even ‘Hyundai’s fault’, so to speak.

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 can be purchased with a 53 kWh battery in its entry-level version and 77 kWh of energy storage capacity in the higher versions. It is available with at least 270 mile of range, together with an electric motor with 151 HP maximum power and a small battery, but it can also offer 316 miles WLTP with a 229 HP motor or reach up to 316 mile in its 325 HP configuration. maximum power. Its power figures are more modest than those of a Tesla Model 3, but it still offers plenty of performance and range is its strong point.

The only problem that the Hyundai IONIQ 6 has encountered along the way is that Tesla has been constantly lowering prices in recent months.

Today, a Tesla Model 3 can be purchased for at least $28,490 and the Hyundai IONIQ 6 starts at least $41,600. The Tesla model has 333 miles of minimum range along with 283 HP of power, and with the improvements that the Tesla Model 3 Highland has introduced, it cannot compete. Because? Well, because, compared to those technical specifications, the cheapest Hyundai IONIQ 6, which already costs almost $12,000 more than a Tesla Model 3, is satisfied with 272 miles of range and only 151 HP of maximum power.
