Lamborghini will start from scratch to create its first 100% electric car

Image
Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has confirmed what was an open secret. The first EV from Sant’Agata Bolognese is getting closer, although it will not be launched until 2028. It was the year 2008 when Lamborghini presented to the world its first electric prototype, the Estoque. Back then, electric cars were unknown. As taken from any science fiction movie, few imagined what was to come. Today, almost two decades later, electric cars are our daily bread. All manufacturers have jumped headlong into them and no one can escape their potential. Luxury brands have joined this bandwagon and all of them, some more than others, are already launching their first units on the market. Although the European Union has approved the end of thermal engines from 2035, and beyond synthetic fuels, it has also admitted an exception to the rule, the well-known Ferrari amendment, which will save the most powerful and exclusive engines From the market. Those from Sant’Agata Bolognese want to diversify the

Unexpected problem of Tesla Semi affecting driving

Image
The launch of Tesla’s long-awaited electric truck Semi is having more problems than expected. Various sources point to problems with the display system. The arrival of the Tesla Semi has marked a turning point in the company. The largest and most complex product they have developed is already in the hands of their first customers, which is their best and toughest test in real environments. The first problems have appeared as an essential part of this stage. Over the past few months, several stranded units have been detected on the highway. Immediately the first rumors pointed to failures with the electrical diagram, but as various sources involved in the development collect,  another essential component is the one that is bringing headaches . On December 2, the delivery ceremony of the first units of the Semi was celebrated in style. PepsiCo was honored to take delivery of those first electric trucks from Tesla. However, those first units have not entered full service as they are bei

Nissan announces 100% electric Skyline R32

Image
The R32 is one of the great legends in automotive history. Its performance dazzled the world and now Nissan wants to transfer that heritage to a 100% electric model. In the automotive world, very few cars have gone down in history on a global scale. Although there are household names in the automotive scene, only a few command respect within the community. The Nissan Skyline is one of them. The Japanese have some of the greatest sports cars in history to their credit, and the R32 of the 1980s is one example. Its extraordinary performance launched it to fame, but now  one unit  will prove that electrification can take its place too. Surely not all fans will be happy with such a change. What some will dismiss as heresy, for others it will be the unstoppable rise of progress. Times change and you have to adapt to them, but without losing sight of the past. In conjunction between the new and the old, Nissan has announced that  it is developing an R32 to be 100% electric . Old  Godzilla

Lamborghini Revuelto The Brand’s First Hybrid Car

Image
The  Lamborghini Revuelto , another beast of Spanish bullfighting, follows in the long and prestigious line of the Countach, Diablo, Murcielago, and Aventador. Particular fact and certainly wanted considering that it comes with a hybrid engine, “revuelto” also means scrambled, agitated in Spanish. This line has always been defined mainly by the presence of a V12, and the Revuelto is no exception. However, to have peace of mind, it is hybridized, which allows it to peak at more than 1,000 horsepower, a first for the manufacturer. At first glance, one recognizes the features of the Revuelto as being typically Lamborghini. No other manufacturer takes this approach. Although the model is completely new, it may lack originality since it does not reserve any real surprise on the aesthetic level. Perfectly in line At the front, the Y-shaped LED headlight units are carried over, seen for the first time on the Siam FKP 37 in 2020. In profile, the shoulders of the wheel arches remain typical,

Toyota finds a partner to take wireless charging to the next level

Image
Toyota, as the world’s leading manufacturer of hybrid cars, wants to continue to be at the forefront of technology in this type of vehicle. One of the areas that shows the least evolution among plug-in hybrids is the recharging section and, to continue experimenting with improvements in all areas, the Japanese firm has partnered with one of the companies with the most knowledge in the field  of inductive recharging , Electreon. If it were to incorporate this solution in its production of hybrid cars, Toyota would be giving a  twist to its ‘self-recharging’ hybrid concept , which is currently the difference between conventional hybrids and plug-in hybrids. Electreon defines itself as a market-leading developer and provider of wireless charging solutions for electric vehicles. The company’s patented inductive technology is capable of charging any electric vehicle both stationary and moving “quickly and safely,” in its own words. According to them, this eliminates range anxiety while re

Next MG ZS EV will base its foundations on the affordable MG4

Image
The MG ZS EV will significantly change its appearance, interior, and mechanics in its new generation. For some years now, this car has been presented as the access model to the electric SUV range, only above (in price) the famous MG4 and below the MG Marvel R. In the coming months, the brand should give the first information in this regard, although the first data are already beginning to emerge. The current generation of the MG ZS EV is presented as one of the most successful models of the brand worldwide. However, substantial changes will make the new generation an even more attractive model, especially in Europe, where the demand for affordable electric SUVs is high. Aesthetic renewal The updating of the MG ZS EV will take on a much more striking design than the current generation. This image will base its foundations on the additions already released in the MG4, such as more aggressive headlights or a design, generally more work. On the other hand, it is not expected that this w

Toyota warns electric car price rise will continue until end of 2024

Image
In the last two years, the prices of cars have increased significantly and it is difficult to find affordable prices. Now, Toyota warns that the situation will continue for a while. The COVID-19 pandemic had very detrimental effects on the motor industry. The confinement and the successive slowdowns in the economy have directly affected the supply chain. Manufacturers have serious supply problems, including large corporations like Toyota.  In such a competitive market, it is very expensive to take the components to the factory  and this ends up having an impact on the sale price. Drivers are forced to pay more for the same and the Japanese warn that  we have not reached a ceiling . Car rates will continue to rise, although they also warn of the end of this dark period. Going to a dealership today or taking a quick look at the price tables is a real panic. The vast majority of car manufacturers have been forced to increase prices for various reasons. The lack of components is the main

Renault Espace 2023 No longer a minivan, but a 7-seater SUV

Image
Over five generations and almost four decades, the Renault Espace has managed to become one of the most famous and recognizable minivan cars in Europe. The French brand has now presented the sixth generation of the Espace, a car that is familiar not because of its resemblance to the previous Espace, but to another existing one. A new Espace that abandons the traditional minivan format (which the previous generation already started) and becomes more SUV than ever. Let’s be clear: the new Espace is  a Renault Austral that has grown in size  to have more interior space and offer the possibility of having seven seats. To deny it would be to fool yourself; It is enough to look at one model and the other to realize that, making an analogy with the Grand Espace or the Grand Scénic, we are facing a kind of “Grand Austral”. Renault’s move makes a lot of sense; On the one hand, it maintains the Espace brand, highly recognized throughout Europe. On the other, it puts an SUV body on the market,

Ford Prepares Second European Electric Car

Image
Ford’s marriage to Volkswagen in Europe will give birth to a second child based on the MEB platform. The name will not please the most staunch defenders of the brand. It was at the end of the 60s and Ford wanted to bring a coupe car to the market with which to respond to the increasingly high customer demand. With the Ford Cortina leading the sales of the family, it was necessary to bring a more daring point of view. To replicate the success of the Mustang in America, in 1968 Ford introduced the  Capri . Throughout its almost two decades of life, almost  two million units  were sold. After his disappearance in 1986, we never heard from him again, until now. The Americans want to  put it back on the market , although their approach will be radically different. Until the second generation, the Capri did not take off in Europe. The third confirmed that success and is currently the most popular of all, with an RS version in high demand today. That time is behind us and now Ford knows tha

The Tesla Gigafactory in Berlin reaches a new record

Image
The German factory is a source of pride for Elon Musk. Hence, he is already planning his expansion to be able to build up to 750,000 more units than he currently produces. The Berlin plant has earned its badge of being one of the  most profitable  North American electric car company. In recent months, the number of vehicles produced has been increasing at these facilities. Now it has reached a new record with which they hope to stabilize their production in the long term. This number is none other than  5,000 Tesla Model Y a week . It was Elon Musk ‘s goal: to be able to manufacture up to 250,000 units of his electric cars annually at the Gigafactory in Berlin. After starting its start-up last March 2022 (with many starting problems), Tesla had set itself reaching this amount by the end of 2022, nine months after its start-up. However, a major global supply crisis and many other headaches led to the postponement of this goal, which finally arrived three months later, one year after i

Volkswagen ID.2all is attractive, capable and affordable

Image
The last day was marked by the presentation of what will be the company’s future electric bestseller, the Volkswagen ID.2all. This zero-emission utility has the main objective of starting its commercialization in the year 2025 or 2026 for a starting price of around 25,000 euros. Its characteristics are clear: the size of a Polo, but the interior space of a Golf. Such has been the commotion that it has caused in the last hours that the CEO of Volkswagen himself has already left the door open to a model located below this with an even more affordable price. Thomas Schäfer , CEO of Volkswagen, pointed out the following: “We are also working on  a vehicle under 20,000 euros  that will be even more challenging. It is part of our DNA and Volkswagen also has a commitment that we all have to assume that we are working at full speed. We will report on this in the coming months.” Although the Volkswagen ID.2 and the Volkswagen ID.1 will have much in common, such as certain mechanical elements

Tesla could cut production costs by 50% in the next 5 years

Image
A lot of information came out of Tesla ‘s  Investor Day  presentation, which was held on March 1. Of all that the manufacturer has said, the most interesting element has been its plans to build a sixteenth giga-factory in Mexico where the manufacturer intends to produce next-generation vehicles there. According to what some investment firms, such as Ark Invest, believe, the price drops we have recently seen from the manufacturer are only the beginning of a new offensive that could upset the entire automotive industry. At the time of this writing, Tesla is already very efficient at auto production, to the point where it earns significantly more profit margins on each vehicle sold than some large, established automakers. However, after listening to  Investor Day , Ark Invest predicts that Tesla will be able to cut production costs by 50% over the next 5 years. This prediction comes from several concrete analyses, based on what was said by the Texas giant during its presentation intend

Prius range confirms Toyota when it comes to hybridization

Image
The fifth renewal of the Prius has caused a stir for being the first generation unanimously recognized for the beauty of its lines. And now it also does it for its range. Since its appearance on the market in 1997, the  Prius  has become the icon of  Toyota  and its  hybrid technology . It is one of the most popular models in the world and has always been very well received by drivers looking for a fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly car. The  popularization of Toyota’s hybrid system , which has ended up being installed in all its models, gradually relegated it, so that its latest generations have not exactly been successful. However, the fifth generation has once again raised expectations. Some  lines  that for the first time can be considered, unanimously, as pleasant and seductive and a new  hybrid system , herald a rebirth of the Prius. It will begin to be marketed in Japan on March 15 in two versions,  hybrid and plug-in hybrid , although only the latter will arrive in E

Volkswagen wants four of its five cars to be electric by 2030

Image
From the beginning, Volkswagen has been one of the companies that are investing the most in the development of sustainable mobility. Those from Wolfsburg, under the command of  Herbert Diess , stepped on the accelerator in their strategy, although reality has ended up prevailing over hopes. Despite not-so-positive beginnings,  the Volkswagen Group increases its sales target for electric cars  by the end of the decade. By then they expect 80% of registrations to be 100% electric cars.  Just two years ago, the former CEO of the German conglomerate introduced the Accelerate strategy. By then, Diess revealed the great importance of electricity in the company’s profit margin. However, the expectations were much higher than what the Volkswagen Group finally ended up achieving. Last year electric car sales accounted for  10% of registrations , a figure lower than expected. Despite this, the new challenge is to improve the 70% forecast for 2030, reaching  80%  of the total volume in Europe.

New Hyundai Kona refreshed to dominate electric SUV market

Image
Hyundai has put all the meat on the grill with the new electric Hyundai Kona. From this car, we were already able to know all its aesthetic details a few months ago. However, many details were left out and that is now fully revealed. The second generation of this electric car is loaded with technology, image, and, above all, an ideal positioning to take over a good part of the  attractively priced electric SUV  market. Outwardly there are hardly any differences from what has already been seen in other previous announcements. In general terms, its SUV body presents very avant-garde and futuristic lines, with very marked wheel arches and black plastic inserts that give it that adventurous character. Its lines directly favor the aerodynamic flow, since its  coefficient is only 0.27 . On the front, its line of LED lights that crosses the entire width of the vehicle predominates, as well as the hatch from which the load will be carried out. In the end, there are some generous optical group

The production of the electric Toyota bZ3 begins

Image
Leaving aside the particular Wuling HongGuang MINI EV, the most successful electric cars on the Chinese market are the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y, with a wide margin of advantage, too. To begin to reduce these differences, what is today the largest manufacturer in the world has just started the production of a model designed to compete with the most affordable of Elon Musk’s firm in the most profitable  market . and bulky in the world.  The Toyota bZ3 has started its series production . It is a  4.72-meter sedan  for the development of which the Japanese brand has had to work together with BYD and FAW, a collaboration that, although it is forced by Chinese regulations (foreign manufacturers have to collaborate with local manufacturers if they want to sell in your country), Toyota has been able to make the right profit by using the resources of each of these companies to perfection: while the company resulting from the collaboration between FAW and Toyota will be in charge of mass

Tesla installs the first V4 Supercharger in Europe

Image
On March 1, the usual Tesla Investor Day took place. One of the most anticipated events in recent years concluded with many promises and few short-term realities. One of the latter was the deployment of the new V4 Superchargers. Although the CEO of the company,  Elon Musk , gave the good news, he avoided giving technical details of what the new fast charging points will be like. He did comment on something about it and that is that they were going to settle in Europe first. Today we have woken up knowing that the deployment of the network will be sooner than we imagined. The first points  are already being installed and we know when and where they will open . Tesla has a huge asset in its charging infrastructure. Considered the most reliable network in the entire market, the evolution of charging points has been significant in recent years. With  more than 40,000 sockets  installed around the world, 400 of them in Spain, the Americans continue to widen their gap with other competitors

Aston Martin will announce its first electric car this summer

Image
Lawrence Stroll , president of Aston Martin, has announced that this summer the brand will present its future model line, which will include a 100% electric vehicle.  “This summer you will see the cars that will take us through our combustion history, our hybrid history, and our electrification plans. It will be a very clear vision of the journey that I have been building for the last three years. The event will be used to show the updated versions of the  Vantage ,  DB11 , and  DBS , its three front-engined grand tourers, as well as a prototype of the future Vanquish, a mid-engined supercar that will sit immediately below the well-known Valhalla and Valkyrie. Aston Martin is expected to launch its first two electric cars, a sports car, and an SUV, in 2025. At the time it was confirmed that the Vantage, DB11, and DBS will be replaced by zero-emission proposals, and since the DB11 is the  eldest of the three , it will be the first to be replaced by an electric one. The SUV for its par
