Xiaomi’s new electric scooter will dominate the market

Xiaomi seeks to change everything again thanks to its new electric scooter that culminates the model range at the top. In the run-up to the Mobile World Congress, the Chinese firm wanted to show its technical capabilities for the market for these urban vehicles and it has done so with an Ultra variant that is positioned above the hitherto known Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro.

As the first differential appendage: its aesthetics. The Scooter 4 Ultra incorporates a double suspension scheme, in which the design of its front wheel stands out particularly. With this, Xiaomi incorporates into its range one of the most comfortable electric scooters for daily use, since it eliminates a large part of the potholes or roads in poor condition.

In addition, the electric model incorporates new DuraGel tires made puncture-proof and with specific self-sealing. As was the case on the Pro model, both wheels have a diameter of up to 10 inches, but ground clearance has increased with the addition of the aforementioned suspensions. The brakes are still a drum for the front axle and an electric one for the rear.

However, where the Scooter 4 Ultra places greater emphasis on differentiating itself from other models in the range is in its mechanics. Xiaomi has incorporated a new electric motor that is much more powerful than the one found in the Pro model since it reaches 500 W of nominal power and 940 W of maximum power. By comparison, the scooter below it boasts a maximum of 700W.

This means that the weight of the set also increases to 25 kilos (the Pro places its total at 16.5 kilos) and can face slopes of up to 25%. However, despite the aforementioned increase in power, Xiaomi’s electric scooter continues to have a maximum speed of up to 25 km/h, since it depends on current regulations that limit these vehicles to such a figure.

Likewise, where the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra reigns in its electric rage per charge, which stands at 70 kilometers, thanks to a new, higher-capacity battery. By comparison, the Pro model did the same with a range of up to 45 kilometers. The time it takes to recharge said battery will be 6 and a half hours to go from 0 to 100% through a domestic outlet. As a curiosity, Xiaomi states that this autonomy has been measured with a weight of 75 kilos on a flat surface and driving at a constant speed of 15 km/h.

All these specifications together mean that the Xiaomi electric scooter can carry weights of up to 120 kilos on its own; a figure well above what has been stipulated so far by other models (generally around 100 kilos).

In another order of things, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra incorporates four specific driving modes depending on the area through which it is going to move: pedestrian, standard, sport, and sport plus. Each of them will change the acceleration and reactions of the electric model. All this will be reflected in its small digital screen located on the handlebars, which has not changed compared to other models in the range.

The top of the range of Xiaomi electric scooters will be available for purchase in Spain starting next April for a price of 999.99 euros. The Pro model establishes its price at 799 euros, but with an important difference in terms of its specifications, which makes the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra a great favorite for lovers of electric scooters.
