Ford has just lifted the lid on the 2023 Escape, and as we reported last month, it’s a good update that hits both styling, technology, and fuel offerings. versions of the popular compact SUV.
It is especially the front and rear parts that make the 2023 Ford Escape stand out from its predecessor. Displaying a square and muscular look, this Escape takes on the air of Edge to better match the manufacturer’s other SUVs. This design refresh incorporates new body colors and new rims.
It’s especially in terms of the passenger compartment that we highlight the most significant changes, in particular by the integration of the SYNC 4 multimedia interface with a 13.2-inch display. SYNC 4 now offers the ability to update remotely and syncs better with the FordPass mobile app. Ford has also removed the MyKey technology and now integrates it directly into the application.
The versions equipped with this system (Active, ST-Line, and PHEV) will receive Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity as standard. Ford also took the opportunity to review its Co-Pilot360 driver assistance technology. It now includes intersection assistance and improves the effectiveness of blind spot detection. New digital instrumentation with a 12.3-inch display also complements the cabin, as well as new materials and new seats.
Although the 2023 Escape has not changed technically and still offers two choices of internal combustion engines as well as hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines, a brand new ST-Line version has been added to the range.
In terms of aesthetics, the ST-Line includes a black grille, a rear spoiler, exclusive 18-inch wheels, body elements that are also black, and colors specific to this version. Up front, only the ST-Line trim incorporates a horizontal LED bar above the grille, while its cabin gets some unique details, like red stitching and sports seats.
