Toyota bZ4X: Germany Price Announced

Toyota has announced the rates for its new electric SUV, the bZ4X, for the German market, where it will start at 47,490 euros. Although the first deliveries will not take place until the beginning of summer, pre-sale will begin in April. It is expected that the brand will follow a similar schedule for its launch in Spain.

The Toyota bZ4X is a medium SUV (segment D) 4.69 meters long. It is based on the new e-TNGA modular platform, which will serve as the basis for most future Toyota and Lexus electric vehicles, as well as for some of the Japanese group’s “satellite” brands (this is the case of Subaru, whose Solterra it is roughly a clone of bZ4X).

Thanks to the use of this architecture, Toyota claims that the bZ4X offers an optimized interior space for a thermal vehicle of similar dimensions (for example, the popular RAV4). Thus, between the waist of the front and rear passengers, there is a distance of one meter. This, however, does not translate into a particularly large trunk, since it remains at just 452 liters.

The Toyota bZ4X will be available with front and all-wheel drive. In the first case, it will be equipped with a 204 hp (150 kW) and 265 Nm of torque motor, thanks to which it will be able to do 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 km/h. The all-wheel-drive model will incorporate two 109 hp (80 kW) propellers in a “dual” configuration (one on each axle), which will give it a combined power of 217.5 hp (160 kW) and a torque of 336 Nm. This will translate into a somewhat better 0 to 100 km/h (7.7 seconds).

The tariffs of the Toyota bZ4X will be located in the high zone of the segment

The batteries, for their part, will have a capacity of 71.4 kWh and will allow it to achieve a range of about 450 km WLTP in its front-wheel-drive version. This pack will be guaranteed at 70% for ten years or one million kilometers (whichever comes first); In addition, Toyota claims that it will retain 90% of its capacity after 240,000 km.

The liquid-based battery climate control system will be associated with a heat pump, which will improve the vehicle’s efficiency in cold climates. As for the load, it will be able to reach a maximum power of 150 kW in direct current, recovering 80% of its range in just 30 minutes.

Among the rivals of the Toyota bZ4X, we could point to the Ford Mustang Mach-E (from 48,000 euros in Germany), Hyundai IONIQ 5 (from 41,900 euros in Germany), Nissan AriyaSkoda Enyaq iV (from 34,600 euros in Germany), Tesla Model Y (from 60,170 euros in Germany) and Volkswagen ID.4 (from 35,345 euros in Germany).
