Design and technical data
There are no big design surprises, because the EQE has been presented for some time. Of course, the sportiness of the AMG model was clearly emphasized. The characteristic AMG elements are of course present. A big difference can of course be seen in comparison to the manufacturer’s combustion models. The so-called one-bow lines are reserved specifically for the EQ models.
Generous surfaces with reduced joints and seamless transitions mix in the AMG EQE with the Black Panel Grill and AMG projections when opening and closing the doors. The front bumper of the AMG is painted in the vehicle color, the front protection has the typical AMG A-wing design and is black.
You can also see a larger rear spoiler for a more dynamic appearance and an aerodynamically optimized diffuser. The side skirts are also painted black in AMG style.
You can see the dimensions and other technical data of the EQE in this table:
AMG EQE 43 | AMG EQE53 | |
Battery capacity [kWh] | 90.6 | 90.6 |
Max. DC charging power [kW] | 170 | 170 |
Range [km] | 462-533 | 444-518 |
length [m] | 4.96 | 4.96 |
width [m] | 1.91 | 1.91 |
height [m] | 1.49 | 1.49 |
trunk volume [l] | 430 | 430 |
Engines and battery
Both AMG models are of course primarily designed for performance. The performance, which comes from two electric motors in each case, is correspondingly good. One mounted on the front and one on the rear axle then also form an all-wheel drive for the AMG EQE versions.
Depending on the version, the performance of the Performance EQE ranges from 476 to 687 hp and a maximum torque of up to 1,000 Newton meters is possible. With the EQE 53, the AMG Dynamic Plus package can be selected as an option, here performance and torque are increased again, and acceleration is of course also better. Here are the motor data in detail:
AMG EQE 43 | AMG EQE53 | |
Total power [hp] | 476 | 626 / 687 |
max. torque [Nm] | 858 | 950 / 1,000 |
Acceleration 0-100 km/h [s] |
4.2 | 3.5 / 3.3 |
Vmax [km/h] | 210 | 220 / 240 |
The EQE 43 is said to have a range of up to 533 kilometers, for the EQE 53 a provisional range of up to 518 kilometers is specified. If the battery is empty, it can be charged efficiently and briefly. Charging with direct current is possible at a fast charging station with up to 170 kW. It only takes 15 minutes and you have enough electricity for 180 kilometers again.
Bidirectional charging is theoretically possible, but will only be offered for models in Japan. Intelligent thermal management is also responsible for the shorter charging times. The battery is preheated or cooled accordingly and then has the optimal temperature at the charging point to be able to charge quickly.
Mercedes-AMG EQE Interior
The interior of the AMG EQE models is characterized by particularly sporty accents. Of course, the typical AMG elements can also be found here. AMG seats with individual graphics and seat covers in man-made leather with microfibre and red topstitching are just one of them. A seat cover in nappa leather is of course also available on request.
Other details in the interior that show that you are sitting in an AMG are, for example:
- AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather with AMG steering wheel buttons
- AMG sports pedals, AMG floor mats and door sills with AMG lettering
- Instrument panel in man-made leather with red topstitching
- Door center panels and center console in microfibre with red topstitching
Of course, the Hyperscreen can also be optionally selected in the AMG EQE, which stretches from A-pillar to A-pillar across the entire dashboard and includes all AMG-specific functions and displays and the MBUX infotainment system.
Mercedes-AMG EQE Price & Start of Sales
The Mercedes-AMG EQE was presented to the public on February 16. The classic Mercedes EQE is scheduled to hit the market in mid-2022. It is therefore extremely unlikely that the AMG version will celebrate its market launch before spring 2023. When it comes to prices, you will be able to dress warmly. We assume that you could get the cheapest AMG EQE model for just under 100,000 euros. Official prices have not yet been announced.
