Peugeot 508 2022: Review, Photos and Engine
One of the general sedans of today, the Peugeot 508 2022, the new features and photos of the 2022 series have emerged. A renewed offer that presents interesting as well as striking novelties. New trim levels are incorporated, the equipment is improved and prices have been modified. Peugeot maintains a varied selection of engines in which the plug-in hybrid version continues to stand out.
The Peugeot brand is determined that its popular saloon can face the new year that is beginning to loom on the horizon. The 2022 range of the Peugeot 508 is already here and represents a renewal, or rather restructuring, of the offer available to date. This model, which fights in the D segment, has managed to reinvent itself in the new times that run with the generational change suffered in 2018.
The Peugeot 508, like other models of the lion firm, now has a new range structure, more simplified and with a varied mechanical offer as we will see throughout this article.
Equipment
Are you interested in getting the popular French saloon? The first thing to keep in mind is that there are two body variants available. We have the traditional saloon-type bodywork and, as a more practical and/or familiar alternative, is the Peugeot 508 SW. Regardless of the variant chosen, we will find the same number of versions.
These are the trim levels that make up the 2022 508 lineups: Active, Active Pack, Allure, Allure Pack, GT, and GT Pack. It should be noted that halfway between the Active Pack finish and the Allure is a finish specifically intended for companies and the self-employed. This is the Business Line version. It is offered for both bodies and has a very interesting equipment-price ratio.
The Active finish, despite having the role of an access version to the range, has solvent equipment, especially at the safety level. It has rear parking aid, electric parking brake with hill exit assistance, Active Safety Brake, collision risk alert, involuntary lane departure alert, and automatic high-beam lighting.
A step above is the Active Pack finish, which completes the previous endowment with the front parking aid, Visiopark 180º rearview camera, and the hands-free access and starts the system. For its part, the Allure finish, the intermediate version, improves the previous equipment with the automatic high-beam assistant, active blind-spot monitoring system, driver attention detection and recognition of speed limit signs, alloy wheels 17-inch, LED interior lighting, over-tinted rear glass, and MiTEP Imila upholstery.
To further improve this equipment, you can opt for the Allure Pack finish that brings with it adaptive cruise control with Stop & Goes function, lane-keeping assistant, and AGR ergonomic front seats. Just above this finish, the GT trim makes an appearance. Among its standard equipment we have Full LED headlights, Full LED 3D taillights with ARS function, 18-inch alloy wheels, a specific chrome grill, aluminum pedals, and a perforated Nappa steering wheel with chrome details. And we come to the GT Pack finish, the most complete and exclusive version of the 508 range. It is fitted with 19-inch alloy wheels, has interior decorations in Zebrano wood, has Alcantara upholstery and the AGR front seats are heated. It also features state-of-the-art piloted suspension.
Peugeot 508 2022 Engines
About the mechanical offer, Peugeot has made quite important adjustments. Just venture into the 508 or 508 SW configurator. The first thing to note is that there is no manual transmission available, at least for the moment. All engines are associated with an EAT8 eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Gasoline options are the majority. The access block is PureTech 130. One notch above, as an intermediate option, we have the PureTech 180 motor and, the more powerful alternative, is the PureTech 225 block. The only diesel mechanic is a BlueHDi 130.
The plug-in hybrid variant is still available. The Peugeot 508 Hybrid remains in the portfolio. As it has an electric autonomy of more than 40 kilometers, it shows the environmental label 0 Emissions from the DGT (General Traffic Directorate) with all the advantages that this implies.
